Electronic Online Filing System Presentation April 15 at 1:30

Chris Johnson, the U.S. District Court Clerk for the Western District of Arkansas, will visit the School of Law on Wednesday, April 15th. Mr. Johnson will give a presentation from 1:30 to 3:00 in room 342 on the electronic online filing system, CM/ECF, that is used in federal courts. The presentation is open to law students, staff, and faculty.

Mr. Johnson was appointed to his current position on January 1, 1988. From 1977-1987, he served as Trial Court Administrator—State of Kansas for the 11th and 31st Judicial Districts. He holds a master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Arkansas and a B.A. in Political Science from Pittsburg State University.

Presenting with Mr. Johnson will be John Stauffer, Dale Wellman, and June Newland. Mr. Stauffer serves as Chief Deputy of the Western District of Arkansas, a position he has held since January 2002. He previously served the Western District as Financial Administrator, Administrative Analyst, Courtroom Deputy, and Jury Administrator. Mr. Wellman has served as the Systems Manager for the Western District of Arkansas since 1990. Before then, he was an instructor at North Arkansas Community College-Rogers. Ms. Newland is Deputy-In-Charge of the Fayetteville Division of the Western District of Arkansas. She was appointed to this position in 2003 after serving as deputy clerk of the Fayetteville Division of U.S. District Court since 1990.
