The Government Affairs Associate will serve as Audubon Arkansas’s primary liaison with the Public Service Commission, specifically representing our interests regarding energy efficiency regulations. In collaboration with the Vice President and Executive Director of Audubon Arkansas, the Government Affairs Associate will represent the organization’s interests with state and federal policymakers. He/she will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with Audubon chapters statewide, updating them on policy developments and opportunities to engage in the process. The successful candidate must be able to think strategically while working to advance our conservation objectives at the state capitol and with our federal policymakers.
The Government Affairs Associate will develop, represent and implement legislative and administrative advocacy campaigns at the local, state and federal levels as appropriate, on critical conservation issues of greatest concern to Audubon and its members designed to advance Audubon’s mission to conserve and restore natural ecosystems, focusing on birds, their habitats and other wildlife.
