Arkansas Bar Association Appointments


Richard L. Ramsay, president-elect of the Arkansas Bar Association (ABA), appointed several University of Arkansas School of Law faculty and professional staff members to ABA committees. Appointments will become effective during the association's 2007 Annual Meeting in June.

  • Malcolm McNair, director of alumni relations, special events and continuing legal education at the School of Law, was appointed to the ABA Continuing Legal Education Committee.
  • Professor Mary Beth Matthews was appointed to the Editorial Advisory Board of The Arkansas Lawyer.
  • Lonnie Beard, associate dean for academic affairs, and law professors Howard Brill, Carl Circo, Scott Dodson, Don Judges and Mary Beth Matthews were appointed to the Arkansas Law Review.
  • Dean Cyndi Nance and Professor Tim Tarvin were appointed to the Lawyers Helping Lawyers Committee.
  • Chris Mitchell, director of career planning and placement, and Dean Nance were appointed to the Arkansas Bar Commission on Diversity.

The Arkansas Bar Association is a statewide association with more than 5,000 attorney members. The association and its members participate in a variety of programs and services for the legal profession and Arkansas communities. The association works to advance the administration of justice in Arkansas and foster high ideals of integrity, learning and public service among its members. The ABA was founded in 1898.
