Director of Bar Passage/Academic Support Program
The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law invites applications for the position of Director of its Bar Passage/Academic Support Program. The position includes appointment as a clinical faculty member and would also include teaching in the Legal Writing and Analysis curriculum.
All applicants will be considered, however, preference is for candidates with experience in providing academic support services and/or teaching legal writing and analysis. Candidates should have a strong academic record that demonstrates potential for leading such a program and clinical instruction. The starting salary range will be in the $78,000-$83,000 range for a 12-month appointment with a renewable contract; full University fringe benefits are provided. Associate Director of Career Services
St. Thomas University School of Law has an Associate Director of Career Services position opening.
Duties: Will provide individual counseling to students and graduates regarding career planning and job searches, including self-assessment, resume and cover letter review, interview preparation, professional skills development, job search strategies, and career options. Coordinates workshops and other programs. Assists in the administration of on-campus and off-campus recruiting and interviewing programs throughout the year. Plans and attends events to facilitate networking opportunities and skill building for students. Assists with collecting, managing, and reporting on an on-going basis for various annual reports. Interacts with legal employers, associations and other members of the legal community locally, regionally and nationally to enhance opportunities for students and graduates of the law school, and to enhance the reputation of the law school and its students and graduates. Develops employer outreach programs. Assists with the creation and editing of handouts, marketing materials, and other resources. The successful candidate will report directly to the Director of Career Services.
Requirements: J.D degree from ABA accredited law school is preferred. A minimum of 5 years experience in career counseling, legal recruiting/hiring, or legal practice required. Knowledge of the legal employment market. Superior interpersonal, communication, counseling and presentation skills. Must have a healthy sense of humor and get along well with all members of department staff. Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills, and knowledge of legal resume and cover letter format. Strong time management and organizational skills. Ability to work effectively with frequent interruptions and changing priorities. Ability to exercise exemplary judgment when dealing with sensitive information and difficult situations. Enthusiasm for working with law students, lawyers, and the legal community. Skill with word processing programs, spreadsheets, database applications, the Internet, and legal job posting/resume collection programs, such as Symplicity, preferred. Willingness to work some evenings and weekends.

Staff Attorney
The American Civil Liberties Union Foundation (ACLU), founded in 1920, is a nationwide, nonprofit, nonpartisan organization, with more than 500,000 members dedicated to the principles of liberty and equality embodied in the Constitution. The Speech, Privacy and Technology Project of the ACLU’s National office in New York City seeks applications for a full-time Staff Attorney.
Overview: The Speech, Privacy and Technology Project is part of the ACLU’s Center for Democracy, which works to strengthen democratic institutions and values, including the values of government transparency and accountability, and to reinforce the United States’ commitment to human rights and the rule of law. The Center for Democracy includes – in addition to the Speech, Privacy and Technology Project – the Human Rights Project and the National Security Project, and also works closely with staff from the ACLU’s Communications Department, Affiliate Support and Advocacy Department, and Washington Legislative Office. The Speech, Privacy and Technology Project is dedicated to protecting and expanding the First Amendment freedoms of expression, association, and inquiry; expanding the right to privacy and increasing the control that individuals have over their personal information; and ensuring that civil liberties are enhanced rather than compromised by new advances in science and technology. The Project is currently litigating cases and conducting other advocacy efforts on a variety of issues, including political protest, freedom of expression online, privacy of electronic information, journalists’ rights, scientific freedom, and openness in the courts.
Roles and Responsibilities: The Staff Attorney will contribute to all aspects of the Project’s litigation and non-litigation work, including but not limited to:
· Litigating free speech, privacy, and technology-related civil liberties cases in the trial and appellate courts. · Developing new cases and non-litigation advocacy projects relating to free speech, privacy, technology,
and civil liberties.
· Managing case development and conduct client and witness interviews.
· Serving as a resource for ACLU legislative and policy work, and advancing ACLU policy goals through public
education, organizing, and participating in coalitions.
· Developing and writing advocacy materials for audiences comprised of lawyers and non-lawyers.
· Communicating with the media about the work of the ACLU’s Speech, Privacy and Technology Project and
the work of the ACLU more generally.
· Working in collaboration with other members of the ACLU’s Speech, Privacy and Technology Project, other
Projects within the ACLU’s Legal Department, particularly the other Projects within the Center for
Democracy, other ACLU departments including in particular Communications, Affiliate Support and
Advocacy, and the Washington Legislative Office, and state affiliates.
· Supervising legal fellows and law students.
Experience and Qualifications: The applicant should possess the following qualifications:
· A J.D. degree and a minimum of three years of litigation experience, preferably including experience
litigating cases involving free speech, privacy, technology, and civil liberties issues.
· A demonstrated commitment to public interest generally and civil liberties in particular.
· Excellent legal research, writing and verbal communication skills.
· An ability to engage in complex legal analysis and fact-finding.
· Ability to work independently as well as within a team.
· An ability to manage cases without close supervision.
· Experience dealing with the media.
· Ability to travel.

Assistant Director of Marketing
Reporting to the Associate Dean of Recruitment and Marketing, the Assistant Director of Marketing at John Marshall Law School is responsible for developing and managing law school recruitment and marketing programs, including, but not limited to, program marketing planning, direct mail campaigns, special events and media relations. Qualifications: Seven to 10 years of increasingly responsible experience in marketing, recruitment and/and or admissions, alumni or constituent relations, preferably in a higher education environment. MBA or Master’s in Communication, Public Relations or related fields, or equivalent combination of experience, education and training is preferred but not required. The Montgomery Foundation Fellowship Program will train aspiring clinical teachers and public interest lawyers. Montgomery Foundation Fellows will work under the supervision of Bluhm Legal Clinic faculty. Fellows will, along with Clinic faculty, supervise students on projects focused on the reduction of jail and prison populations. This will include representation of clients and development of policy initiatives. This is a two-year fellowship. The Montgomery Foundation Fellowship Program seeks applicants with 2-5 years of legal practice experience. Assistant Director of Academic Development
The Assistant Director of Academic Development works in and out of the classroom to improve the academic success of Santa Clara University Law School's students from orientation through bar passage as part of Santa Clara Law's Academic & Professional Development ("APD") Department. APD works in coordination with the doctrinal and skills faculty to design, coordinate, implement, evaluate, and improve the supplemental academic skills curriculum. Every APD faculty member teaches courses, provides direct student counseling, and administers various programs on a year-round basis.
Depending on need, the Assistant Director will teach two multiple credit-bearing skills courses, some of which target students in academic difficulty. These courses, ordinarily capped at 20 students, require individualized counseling and regular written feedback aimed at diagnosis and correction, as well as management of enrollment when registration is restricted.
In addition to course work, the Assistant Director will contribute to APD's substantial academic and course counseling of law students and future bar takers at all levels.
Finally, the Assistant Director must contribute to the management and execution of one or more programs for student academic success and/or bar preparation. These duties may include the hiring, training, and supervision of upper division law students and/or adjunct lecturers. APD faculty also regularly teach at events including Orientation programs and Skills Workshops.
Qualifications: J.D. and a state bar admission; Prior teaching, student counseling, academic support, and/or bar tutoring or grading experience desirable; Ability to excel in teaching and counseling students from diverse backgrounds; Experience in program management and assessment desirable; Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint helpful; Ability to think imaginatively, critically, and collaboratively about how to improve and measure student academic development.
This position is a full-time, non-tenure track, one-year lecturer position with benefits. The position is year-round; summer service in residence is required. The law school supports professional development through conferences and training; services and scholarship are welcome but not required.

Assistant Director for Professional Development
Golden Gate University School of Law is seeking applications for its Assistant Director for Professional Development position. The Assistant Director will be part of the Law Career Services team and will report to the Associate Dean for Law Career Services and Alumni Relations.
Basic Function and Scope of Job: Provide advising, programs and resources to students and alumn of the JD, LLM and SJD programs, with particular focus on graduating students and recent graduates. Generate employment opportunities for recent law school graduates.
Essential Functions:
- Provide individual and group advising to students and alumni in the JD, LLM and SJD programs, with particular emphasis on working with graduating students and recent JD graduates. Coach graduates through the job search process, including self-assessment, identifying target employers, developing a professional network and creating effective materials. Critique resumes and cover letters and prepare for job interviews.
- Develop new initiatives to engage recent graduates in the job search process. Conduct outreach to students and graduates to provide ongoing support with job searches.
- Collect data on graduate employment and collaborate with LCS senior recruiting coordinator to manage annual survey/data collection process.
- Provide advice on job search strategies and exploring career options. Organize and present workshops and presentations designed to educate students and graduates about legal career options and job search techniques.
- Write handouts, blog articles, and promotional materials. Write weekly enewsletter for recent graduates. Supervise LCS Graduate Fellow.
- Cultivate and promote job and networking opportunities for students and graduates. Conduct outreach to law firms and other legal employers via in-person visits to generate new employment opportunities for recent graduates. Serve as a liaison between Golden Gate students/alumni and members of the professional community.
- Collaborate with student organizations to present programs and generate resources for students.
- Participate in department programs and projects.
- Serve as a liaison to regional and national professional associations and employer communities. Attend networking events during and after regular business hours.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of practices, techniques and standards for career counseling, coaching and advising; effective job search techniques; use of LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, and other social media resources; San Francisco Bay Area legal community and national legal job market.
- Ability to design and execute career development workshops, programs, and events. Work independently and initiate projects or ideas; establish and maintain positive and professional relationships with students, faculty, staff, alumni and the legal community; understand and be sensitive to the needs of diverse populations of students; communicate clearly, concisely and persuasively in oral and written forms; present information effectively as a public speaker; plan events (including logistics, publicity, and content); earn trust and maintain confidentiality; exercise sound judgment in decision making and problem solving; manage multiple projects and work assignments within established timeframes; maintain accurate and detailed records; be available for events and appointments in the early evening; analyze data and develop reports; and proficiency with MS Office.
- Education and Experience: Minimum 3 years experience as either a practicing lawyer with hiring authority, legal recruiter or career counselor preferably in an academic setting. Experience with helping others develop and manage a job search. JD required. Must have experience working with diverse populations. Genuine interest in the career services profession.

Assistant Director of Admissions
Quinnipiac University School of Law invites applications for the position of Assistant Director of Law Admissions. The Assistant Director will join the admissions team at the school of law in attracting and enrolling a diverse class with increasingly improved academic credentials.
