Attorneys with Disabilities
Title I of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) requires
private and state and local government employers with 15 or more
employees to provide "reasonable accommodation" to qualified
applicants and employees with disabilities, unless doing so would
cause an undue hardship. Section 501 of the Rehabilitation Act of
1973 imposes the same requirements on federal agencies, regardless of
the number of employees they have.
Additional guidance provided by
the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) is available on
the EEOC web site at http://www.eeoc.gov/facts/accommodations-attorneys.html.
