School of Law Commencement Instructions

Below is important information about commencement exercises. Many questions about graduation activities are answered below.
Regalia: Graduates should pick up regalia at the UA Bookstore between May 6th and May 9th. Please check the UA Bookstore site for more information.
Award Reception: The School of Law will host a Graduate Family Reception and Award Ceremony on Friday, May 15, 2015. The reception will begin at 5:30 pm in the Richard B. Atkinson Memorial Courtyard. Awards and Honors will be presented beginning at 6:00 pm in the E.J. Ball Courtroom. A class photo will be taken immediately preceding the awards ceremony.
We encourage you to invite your family to attend. In order to arrange for refreshments, please register for the awards reception at http://attend.com/Law-GradAwards-2015.
Commencement Ceremony Guests: There is no limit to the number of guests you bring with you. Please bring as many friends and family members as you wish to invite.
Commencement Arrival: The School of Law commencement exercise will begin promptly at 2:00 on Saturday, May 16, 2015. Graduates, please ARRIVE AT THE TOWN CENTER NO LATER THAN 1:15pm wearing your cap and gown. Carry your hood over your right arm. Note: Graduates will be “hooded” during the ceremony. 2015 Faculty Hooders are Professors Dustin Buehler and Laurent Sacharoff.
The class speaker is Travis Adams, and the keynote speaker will be Amy Tu. Ms. Tu is a 1996 graduate of the School of Law and is chief counsel for Boeing Commercial Airplanes for the Boeing Company in Seattle.
Graduates should follow signage and proceed to the north corridor to line up. Graduates must leave personal belongings with family and friends since you will not be allowed to carry items during the ceremony.
Commencement Livestream: Commencement ceremonies will be live streamed to the web at http://livestream.com/uark/events/3858132.
Pronunciation of Your Name: Please see Professor Carlton Bailey if you anticipate problems with the pronunciation of your name for commencement.
Pictures: A professional photographer will be taking pictures during the awarding of diplomas, and they will contact you later to arrange for prints. We invite family and friends to feel free to use cameras.
Parking: On commencement day there will be limited parking below the Town Center in the parking garage and around the Fayetteville Square. Please Note: Fayetteville Farmer’s Market will be held on the square until 2:00 pm.
Limited Disabled Seating: We recommend that guests with mobility impairment please contact Michele Payne at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Reception Following Ceremony: Everyone is invited to the reception immediately following graduation on the patio surrounding the Town Center.
Commencement Invitations: We have a limited stock of invitations available for purchase in Michele Payne’s office (room 187). Invitations are .55 each and there is no minimum to purchase. Checks or cash only.
