Thurgood Marshall Mock Trial Team
The Thurgood Marshall Mock Trial Team, comprised of Daryl "Toni" Taylor, Shyretta R. McCrackin, Mariel Williams and Cedrick Frazier advanced to the semi-final round of the competition. Their coach, James Dockery, Associate General Counsel of Employment Practices Division for the Legal Department of Wal-mart Stores, Inc., emphasized the professionalism, integrity and hard work of the team.
"These four law students who will soon become lawyers are some of the finest advocates I've ever worked with," he said.
Frederick Douglass Moot Court Team
The Frederick Douglass Moot Court team, comprised of Chidinma Ahia and Asia Diggs, advanced to the quarter-final round of the competition and won the Best Brief for the Petitioner award. Their coach, Eva Madison, said the two students worked extremely hard since the beginning of the academic school year on the brief that beat over 19 teams.
Chapters who are honored as regional and national chapters of the year have a balanced local organization that is dedicated, through programming, to its members' educational development, academic achievement, social awareness, community activism and much more.
