Board of Advocates
The Board of Advocates (BOA) is a student organization that administers all intra-school and inter-school competitions, including trial, moot court, client counseling and negotiations.
Board of Advocates Purpose: organize, administer, oversee and direct for the law school selected student competitions designed to encourage the development of oral advocacy and lawyering skills by the student body.
Board members may earn one hour of ungraded academic credit, provided they complete their Board duties. The Board's Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary/Treasurer, and Competition Chairs may earn one additional hour of credit upon completing their duties. Members of interscholastic competition teams also may earn one hour of credit.

Ben J. Altheimer Spring Moot Court Competition
The Ben J. Altheimer Spring Moot Court Competition consists of the top thirty-two oralists from the fall
competition. It is an elimination tournament with two-person teams and preliminary
ranking rounds. The Altheimer competition has the richest and longest history at the
University of Arkansas, and gives students the opportunity to develop invaluable writing
and speaking skills. The intramural moot court competition serve as a training and
selection process for the students who will represent the University in regional and
national competitions in variety of substantive areas, including criminal law,
constitutional law and international law.
American Bar Association Client Counseling Competition
Students compete in two-member teams in an office setting, and conduct the initial
interview of an actor/client to discover the client's legal issues and render preliminary
legal advice.
