Employment & Labor Law Society

The Employment and Labor Law Society (ELLS) was formed by law students in 2001. The society elects eight members from the student body to serve as officers. It also has the strong faculty support as advisors of Professor Cynthia Nance, a career labor advocate and professor of labor and employment law, and Professor Richard F. Richards, professor of Employment Discrimination Law.

Mission Statement

The Employment and Labor Law Society operates for the following purposes:

• To create a forum for all students interested in employment law by hosting events that explore the vast field of employment law,

• To facilitate the exchange of ideas, experiences and opportunities by maintaining a network of attorneys and other professionals involved in business, public policy and academia,

• To provide a forum for students and professionals to discuss relevant contemporary issues affecting the fields of labor and employment law and

• To remain engaged in the community to which we are a part through pro bono/community service activities.
