International Video Conferences Scheduled with Ukraine, New York
Law
professors Donald Judges and Christopher Kelley will host digital
video conferences with students and lawyers in Ukraine, New York City
and the University of Arkansas the week of March 8. Kelley’s video
conference, part of his Rule of Law colloquium, will take place 8:00
a.m. Wednesday, March 10, in room 327 of Leflar Law Center. Judges’
conference on Judicial Discipline will be held Thursday, March 11, at
9:00 a.m. in room 336.
The Wednesday Rule of Law conference will feature Jim Walden, a litigation partner in the Gibson Dunn New York City office. Walden, who is the co-chair of the firm’s White Collar Defense and Investigations Group, will lead a discussion of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. Law students and faculty in Kyiv, Ukraine, will take part in the three-way videoconference. The conference is open to the law school community, but seating is limited.
Thursday’s conference on Judicial Discipline will be a participatory seminar with faculty and students in Kyiv. Ukraine's unique history, geopolitical significance and current struggles with the implementation of the Rule of Law make it an especially relevant point of contact. Those wishing to attend the conference should contact Professor Judges at djudges@uark.edu or (479) 575-7571.
