Arkansas Law Notes

Law Notes

Arkansas Law Notes is published annually by the University of Arkansas School of Law to members of the bar and the law school community. The publication features articles and current research from School of Law faculty. Law Notes is a tradition of the School of Law, dedicated to providing timely and insightful research on a variety of subjects to members of the bar.

The 2007 Law Notes includes articles ranging from jurisdictional traps to “stealing” your neighbor's wireless internet. Also included is a long article on election reform and the Help America Vote Act of 2002 (it continues to challenge the states) and a discussion of single-asset real estate debtors in bankruptcy. Carol Circo has two articles: one on the new Trust Code and one reviewing a book discussing real estate lore. Workmen's Compensation is back with John Norwood's discussion of coverage or not for employee breaks and bathroom visits. Steve Sheppard is back rating the best in legal literature. You can laugh along with Lorraine Lorne's article about ridiculous laws. We also have a twenty-five year index to help you find back articles.

Law Notes is produced under the guidance of Professor Janet Flaccus.

In an effort to create a more organized World Wide Web, the W3C has created many new Web layout standards. The key focus of their effort is to provide the best possible interoperability between the different browsing programs available.

In the days of the browser wars between Netscape and Microsoft, many hacks were propagated by the competing companies. However, today these hacks have done more to hurt the Web than to help the battling companies. By downloading and installing one of the programs listed above, the Web will be one step closer to eliminating these hacks and bugs.
