Professor Young created, and now directs, the immigration law clinic at the University of Arkansas School of Law. Prior to coming to the U of A, she served as interim director of the immigration law clinic at George Washington University Law School. She worked for three years at the San Francisco Immigration Court as an attorney adviser through the Department of Justice Honors Program.

Professor Young devotes a significant amount of her time to service within the community. She has developed a number of programs with local community organizations such as Peace at Home Women’s Shelter and the Hispanic Women’s Organization of Arkansas. She also serves on a number of boards and committees both locally and nationally including the University’s One Book One Community committee, the Ozark Literacy Council board, and the Central States Law Schools Association board.
