Logistics and Details

Applying for graduation: Graduates can find information about applying for graduation here.

The deadline to apply for spring graduation is March 1.

Regalia: Graduates should pick up regalia in the University of Arkansas Bookstore. The dates for pick up are typically a few weeks prior to graduation. Please refer to this site for additional details and deadlines.

If you are unable to pick up your regalia, please ask a friend to pick it up. The bookstore dates for regalia pickup are final, there will not be other available dates. This is your last chance to pick up your Regalia before graduation or make any last-minute exchanges for sizes. Contact the University Bookstore at 479-575-2155 for more information.

Candidates for degrees must wear regalia appropriate to their degree without added adornment such as markings on mortarboards, beads, or flowers. All graduates are expected to wear the approved, university-issued regalia. Students must be in the appropriate attire to participate in the ceremony.

The official headgear for the commencement ceremony is the doctoral tam. The tams will be ordered through the bookstore for an additional cost. Students will pay the bookstore for their tams when they pick up their regalia. The tam purchase fee is an additional cost not included in the application fee for graduation. There are limited funds available to cover the costs of tams for students not able to pay the extra fee. If this causes a financial hardship, please contact Brooke Holt bholt@uark.edu

Commencement Livestream: Commencement ceremonies will be live-streamed via the University of Arkansas YouTube channel. Streaming of the ceremony will show on this page, and we will post all updated information here. Please feel free to share this link with family and friends who cannot attend. Archived video also available on the YouTube channel.

Official Photos: A professional photographer from GradImages will be taking pictures during hooding and awarding of diplomas. In order to obtain the best photo, please face the audience as you are hooded. This will allow the photographer the best angle for a photo. Another photographer will take a photo when the dean hands you your diploma. A final posed photo with you holding your diploma will be taken once you exit the stage. GradImages will contact you later to arrange for prints.

Family Photos: Family and friends are welcome to use cameras during the ceremony. We only ask that they stay out of the sightline of the official photographers and videographers.

Guests and tickets for commencement: Graduates will be notified of ticket limit and information regarding ticket reservations after that graduation application deadline.

Reception Following Ceremony: We invite all graduates and guests to a reception at the School of Law immediately following graduation.
