Law Student Professional Development Fund Application

The Law Student Professional Development Fund provides funds to assist with professional development opportunities for law students, including travel and expenses associated with job shadowing, conference attendance, and mentorship activities. The fund is supported by the private contributions of alumni and friends of the School of Law.

Awarding Procedure

  1. The student must submit the online application (link below) and upload supporting documents.
  2. A committee will review each application and make a recommendation to approve or deny the award request. Decisions by the committee are final.
  3. The student will be notified of the committee’s decision by the office of community engagement.
  4. If approved, travel arrangements will be coordinated by a member of the law school staff, subject to university travel and reimbursement policies.

Before applying, please know that awards generally do not exceed $750. The committee will review applications requests in excess of $750 for rare and compelling circumstances. Applicants may be required to meet with the law school staff to discuss their application. Application approval is dependent on availability of funds. If multiple students request funds to attend the same conference or event, applications will be evaluated as a group request.
