This year's Arkansas Law Review symposium, titled "Universities at a Crossroads: Legal Issues in Higher Education," focuses on relevant topics affecting higher education and the changing legal frameworks that impact public institutions.
The symposium will feature national scholars, experts, and practitioners to discuss key developments in legal education. Featured panelists include scholars from the University of Virginia School of Law, Pepperdine, Ohio State University, Washington University, Duke University, and others. The keynote address will be delivered by Professor Gabriel Feldman from Tulane University Law School where he will discuss the transformation of college athletics and possibilities for reform.

Speakers
Gabriel Feldman
is the director of the Tulane University Sports Law Program and Associate Provost
for NCAA Compliance.
Jason Jarvis
currently serves as an associate professor of law and Associate Dean for Academic
Affairs at Pepperdine Caruso School of Law.
Christina Kline
is the Executive Director for the Duke Access and Accommodation Services (DAAS),
ensuring that Duke University meets its responsibilities under a variety of access
and accommodation laws.
Alice Abokwa
is a former federal attorney and civil rights litigator. She is an expert in disability
law, health law and antidiscrimination law and an associate professor at the University
of Virginia School of Law.
Gregory Magarian
is the Thomas and Karole Green Professor of Law at the Washington University School
of Law, and he teaches and writes about constitutional law with a focus on freedom
of expression.
Vinay Harpalani
is the Don L. and Mabel F. Dickason Endowed Chair in Law at the University of New
Mexico School of Law, where he teaches constitutional law, civil procedure, race and
the law, employment discrimination, and election law.
Clay Calvert
serves as a nonresident senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute in Washington,
D.C. and is professor emeritus at the University of Florida in Gainesville.
Kate Schaffzin
is the Director of the Reeves Institute for Professional Leadership at the University
of Tennessee Winston College of Law and former dean of the University of Memphis Cecil
C. Humphreys School of Law.
Gerard Robinson
is a Professor of Practice at the Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy
at the University of Virginia and has a joint appointment at the UVA School of Law.
JD Hsin
is an Assistant Professor of Law at the University of Alabama School of Law and former
senior counsel in the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights at the U.S.
Department of Education.
Audrey Anderson
is currently Counsel at Bass, Berry & Sims in Nashville, Tennessee, and an Adjunct
Faculty member at Vanderbilt University Law School. She focuses on representing colleges,
universities and educational institutions.
Suzanne Goldberg
is the Herbert and Doris Wechsler Clinical Professor of Law at Columbia Law School.
She established the school’s Sexuality and Gender Law Clinic and co-founded its Center
for Gender and Sexuality Law.
Hannah Brenner Johnson
is dean and the Hiram H. Lesar Professor of Law at Southern Illinois University Simmons
Law School.
Rachel Croskery-Roberts
is the Associate Dean for Lawyering Skills and a Professor of Lawyering Skills at
the University of California, Irvine School of Law.
