Summer Public Service Fellowship 2024 Opportunities
The University of Arkansas School of Law Summer Public Service Fellowship Program provides paid public service fellowships to promising law students interested in public service careers. It offers meaningful employment opportunities and provides legal services to non-profit, non-governmental, and governmental entities that cannot otherwise afford summer interns. During the summer of 2024, the following named fellowship opportunities will be available:
Raffaelli Lineberger Public Service Fellow (1 Available)
Purpose: to provide fellowship opportunities to students with public service interest in the legislative, executive or judicial branches of government. Student must have demonstrated interest in public service work.
Past placements include: Benton County Circuit Court, Senator Tom Cotton's Office, Securities and Exchange Commission, and U.S. Department of Justice
Squire Patton Boggs Public Policy Fellowship (1 Available)
Purpose: to support exceptional first- and second-year law students who demonstrate a steadfast commitment to public service and a developed interest in public policy.
Past placements include: Kids in Need of Defense, Legal Aid of Arkansas, Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, Peace at Home Shelter
Public Interest Litigation Fellow (4 Available)
Purpose: to provide need-based scholarships to individuals expressing an interest in public interest or complex public interest litigation practice within the State of Arkansas.
Past placements include: Arkansas Department of Human Services, United States District Court of Eastern Arkansas, Maricopa County Attorney's Office, Federal Public Defender, Washington County Public Defender
Gearhart Family Endowed Diversity Support Fellow (1 Available)
Purpose: to broaden the student experience through the expansion of academic opportunities that foster diversity in the legal profession and for students from a diverse background, including but not limited to the following: membership in an underrepresented ethnic or minority group, being an underrepresented student with a demonstrated interest in a particular field of law, status as a first -generation college student, or being physically challenged and/or visually impaired.

Ben J. Altheimer Public Service Fellow (1 Available)
Purpose: to provide a public service fellow for a non-profit organization in Jefferson County, AR. Preference to placement in the City of Altheimer.
Past placements include: Center for Arkansas Legal Services (Jefferson County).
